The BVC design utilizes a vertically positioned coil. Once worn out, you only need to replace the atomizer head itself, not the entire clearomizer.

Aspire BVC with vertical coil
Aspire BVC atomizer headuses a Bottom Vertical Coil design, meaning it features a vertically positioned coil. It is a replacement heating element for older refillable electronic cigarettes and Aspire clearomizers.
When worn out, the entire atomizer head is replaced, while the clearomizer can continue to be used.
1.6, 1.8, and 2.1 ohm variants
1.6 ohm– standard BVC variant for a tighter MTL draw.
1.8 ohm– higher resistance intended also for the classic MTL style at lower power.
2.1 ohm– the highest resistance variant in this range, intended for compatible older BVC clearomizers. The recommended wattage may vary depending on the device, so please follow the information on the atomizer head or the packaging.
