On paper, it sounds interesting.
However, in terms of taste, Starlight didn't really suit me. It's quite interesting, but it's just weird...
And that's a good time to mention one thing: with nicotine pouches and chewing tobacco, taste is incredibly subjective. What one person calls brilliant mango with mint, another might find strange. So please take my evaluation as a personal preference, not an objective verdict.
Starlight could easily be your favorite VIKA.
VIKA Supermassive: the name says it all
VIKA Supermassive offers a sharp spiced mint complemented by a tobacco base. The nicotine content is 45 mg/g and it's again in Slim format.
So yes – VIKA also has some very strong stuff.
If you're used to weaker nicotine pouches, I definitely wouldn't consider 45 or 50 mg/g to be a normal next step just because the box has a nice design.
My opinion on VIKA: Swedes just know how to do it
For me, VIKA is a quality-feeling product.
And generally, I feel that when it comes to nicotine pouches, snus, and similar products, Swedes are still top-notch. They have a completely different history with this category than most of Europe, and it often shows in the final products.
I particularly like several things about VIKA.
The first is the comfort of the pouches. The Slim format makes sense to me, and the product as a whole feels well-made.
The second thing is the design of the cans. It's simple, clean, and doesn't try to scream at me with ten fonts, flames, icebergs, and a tiger with laser eyes and a pterodactyl in the background. The cans look modern and high-quality without appearing overly cluttered. (simplicity = premium)
And the third big plus is the range of different strengths.
6 mg, 7.5 mg, and 12 mg per pouch for nicotine pouches is, in my opinion, a much more sensible approach than building an entire brand solely on the slogan "we are the strongest on the market."
What didn't suit my taste?
Now for the less positive part.
VIKA Mojito personally didn't suit my taste.
Similarly, VIKA Starlight didn't impress me much either.
I'm not saying they're bad. It's just that the combination of flavors wasn't for me.
And precisely with similar products, the good old saying "to each their own" applies. Taste is purely subjective. What one person calls brilliant mango with mint, another can't stand. Some love mango with tobacco, others want pure tobacco without anything extra.
That's why I would never write off an entire brand just because of one flavor.
VIKA vs. Siberia: what would I choose?
If it's purely about chewing tobacco and taste, I would personally still lean towards Siberia.
I've known Siberia for years, it's a favorite. (love and hate, a bit of a toxic relationship, but still a favorite and a certainty)
And when you use a flavor for a long time, you get used not only to the flavor itself but also to its intensity, format, and overall expression. So my preference might largely be just habit. That's why I don't want to claim that Siberia is objectively better than VIKA (but it probably is).
For me personally, yes. For you, it might not be at all.
Will VIKA become my new number one?
Probably not. And paradoxically, that doesn't stop me from recommending VIKA at all.
It's not a brand where I'd say after the first try: "Okay, from now on, I'm only buying this." Some flavors suit me more, some significantly less, and for chewing tobacco, I still have other favorites.
But at the same time, VIKA seems interesting enough for me to say: definitely try at least one or two variants.
The craftsmanship seems good, the offer isn't boring, you have several strength levels, and you can choose between tobacco-free nicotine pouches and classic tobacco products.
And in the end, you still have to find your own favorite.
