SYX Nicotine Pouches Review: 7 Flavors, Various Strengths, and Why They Didn't Convince Me Personally
Share
When you say SYX, personally, the first thing I think of is vaping.
And I'm probably not the only one. The nicotine pouch materials themselves mention that the brand is known in our country mainly for SYX BAR disposable e-cigarettes.
But SYX is no longer just about disposables. Their offer also includes POD electronic cigarettes, refillable PODs and refillable e-cigarettes, SYX e-liquids, and precisely nicotine pouches.
And those are a somewhat peculiar part of the offer.
Not because they all taste bad or are poorly made. Rather, it's because SYX, in my opinion, hits my taste preferences significantly better in vaping than in nicotine pouches.
But I'll get to that later.
What kind of SYX nicotine pouches are there?
In the current offer I had access to, there are seven variants:
SYX Apple Mint – 11.49 mg/pouch
SYX Peppermint – 2.8 mg/pouch
SYX Cool Mint – 11.49 mg/pouch
SYX Blueberry – 5.6 mg/pouch
SYX Royal – 11.49 mg/pouch
SYX Freeze – 11.49 mg/pouch
SYX Tropical – 11.49 mg/pouch
So it's not a line where every box offers the same strength and only the flavor changes.
And that, in my opinion, is a plus.
From 2.8 to 11.49 mg of nicotine per pouch
The differences between individual products are quite significant.
At one end, you have SYX Peppermint with 2.8 mg of nicotine per pouch, which, according to the provided data, is suitable even for beginners or users who want to significantly limit their nicotine intake.
Then there's SYX Blueberry 5.6 mg, which is a reasonable middle ground. The product description positions it for slightly advanced users.
And the rest of the main offer goes to 11.49 mg of nicotine per pouch.
This includes Apple Mint, Cool Mint, Royal, Freeze, and Tropical. Apple Mint, for example, is directly categorized in the materials as a strong variant for more advanced users.
For me, it's good that SYX offers more than one strength level. Not everyone wants 11+ mg, and at the same time, not everyone will be satisfied with just under three milligrams.
SYX Apple Mint 11.49 mg
Apple Mint combines sweet apple with cooling mint.
On paper, probably one of the safest combinations in the entire range. Apple works well in nicotine pouches, and mint can slightly tone down the sweetness and add freshness.
SYX Apple Mint contains 11.49 mg of nicotine per pouch, uses a Slim format, and according to the provided data, is manufactured in the Czech Republic.
Taste-wise, it didn't convince me personally, but if you like the combination of fruit and mint, you might, of course, see it completely differently.
SYX Peppermint 2.8 mg
Here it's simple.
Mint. 2.8 mg. Slim pouch.
No blueberry from Melmac (millennial joke) or mango with cola.
SYX Peppermint has a pleasantly cooling mint flavor and is the weakest variant in the entire range.
Precisely those 2.8 mg per pouch are, in my opinion, its main advantage. Many brands today are competing to write a larger number on the box. Here, on the other hand, you have the option to choose a significantly milder variant.
Taste-wise, it wasn't for me again. Sorry.
SYX Cool Mint 11.49 mg
If Peppermint represents a milder mint, SYX Cool Mint goes in a completely different direction.
It has 11.49 mg of nicotine per pouch and combines a sweeter menthol flavor with an icy effect.
It is thus significantly stronger and also more flavor-intensive.
If you are looking for sweeter menthol instead of plain pure mint, this will probably be a more logical choice than Peppermint.
SYX Blueberry 5.6 mg
SYX Blueberry... easy = Blueberry. Sweet. Distinctive.
And done. It has 5.6 mg of nicotine per pouch, so its strength is nicely between Peppermint and the strong variants with 11.49 mg.
For me, 5.6 mg is a more interesting value than the flavor itself. If SYX were to offer more variants at this strength in the future, I would personally consider it a good move.
SYX Royal: nicotine pouches with Coca-Cola flavor
And now for something a little different.
SYX Royal, according to the product description, has an authentic and distinctive taste of sweet Coca-Cola and 11.49 mg of nicotine per pouch. (I haven't tasted it, I don't like cola pouches, more info later)
Cola-flavored nicotine pouches are precisely the type of flavor where reactions, in my opinion, will be extremely divided.
Either you'll like it and wonder why every manufacturer doesn't make it, or after the first pouch, you'll realize you'd rather have your Cola in a glass.
Fun fact: why I didn't try SYX Royal
And another purely personal fun fact. I didn't try SYX Royal with cola flavor at all. Not because I have anything against Cola, but because of one sentence that has been haunting me for years.
My former boss once told me that cola-flavored nicotine pouches taste like mold to him.
And that was it. End of story.
Since then, I started tasting that "moldy" flavor too, and I simply can't get rid of it anymore. It's just psychological, of course, and a totally subjective association – some people might love cola pouches and not understand what I'm talking about at all.
But since then, I just can't stand them.
And with this, I greet Dušan. Thanks, buddy. Now I probably won't ever like cola pouches again. 😄
SYX Freeze 11.49 mg: mint done differently
SYX Freeze caught my attention at least by its description.
It has a cooling mint flavor built on a salty base, which is supposed to neutralize the flavor in a certain way. The nicotine content is again 11.49 mg per pouch.
It is precisely the saltier base that distinguishes it from the classic Cool Mint.
It's one of those flavors I'd recommend trying just because everyone imagines something a little different under it.
SYX Tropical 11.49 mg
The last one is SYX Tropical, meaning a combination of tropical fruit and pineapple.
It has 11.49 mg of nicotine per pouch and uses the same Slim format as the other variants.
If you don't like mint and specifically want a fruity variant and specifically SYX...
Slim format is the right choice for me
One thing I have to give SYX credit for.
I like Slim pouches.
They are narrower, don't feel like a pillow under the lip, and for everyday use, they make more sense to me than huge Regular formats.
All variants from the supplied SYX range use the Slim design. For Apple Mint, the manufacturer also mentions comfortable filling and easy use. So, from the perspective of the format itself, I have no problem with them. (but it's not unique, 80 percent of pouches are Slim format...)
My opinion:
Now the most important thing.
Personally, SYX nicotine pouches didn't suit my taste. And unfortunately, none of the variants I tried.
However, I don't want to make this an objective judgment.
The taste of nicotine pouches is extremely subjective. Just as someone loves cola flavors and another can't stand them, someone wants a sweet blueberry and another has used only pure mint for ten years.
So take this purely as a personal preference.
I'm not saying:
"SYX makes bad nicotine pouches."
I'm saying:
"Their flavor style didn't suit me."
And that's a pretty big difference.
Paradoxically, I like SYX as a brand
And that's what's a bit funny about the whole review.
Because SYX as a brand excites me.
Just not primarily because of their nicotine pouches.
In vaping, it's a completely different story for me. It's great there.
SYX Disposable E-cigarettes
It was probably through disposable electronic cigarettes SYX BAR that a large number of people became familiar with the brand. Even the materials for nicotine pouches explicitly state that SYX is known in our country mainly for its disposable e-cigarettes.
SYX POD Systems
Another thing I like about SYX is their shift from pure disposables to POD electronic cigarettes.
For example, SYX POD PRO is no longer just a "snap on a cartridge and don't worry about anything" type of device.
It has an 1100 mAh battery, a display, adjustable power, and airflow control. Moreover, it can work with pre-filled SYX PODs and refillable SYX POD cartridges.
That's a much more interesting direction for me.
Those who want simplicity can use a pre-filled pod. Those who want to choose their own e-liquid can take a refillable cartridge.
And then there are SYX e-liquids
The third category where SYX makes a lot of sense to me is SYX e-liquids. Very good.
And that's where, in my opinion, their more pronounced flavors are best utilized.
In vaping, a sweet, fruity, or cooling flavor has a completely different character than in a nicotine pouch. Therefore, it's not at all unusual that some flavor profiles of the brand suit me when vaping but not in the form of pouches.
So are SYX nicotine pouches bad?
No. I just wouldn't personally include them among my favorites. Quite the opposite, sorry.
I appreciate:
- different strengths from 2.8 to 11.49 mg/pouch,
- Slim format,
- a relatively wide range of flavors,
- the option to choose between fruit, mint, or something unusual like Coca-Cola
But taste-wise, I didn't find my favorite in the offer. That, of course, doesn't mean you won't find yours.
Which SYX nicotine pouch to choose?
If I were to choose based on parameters and not my personal taste:
Want low strength?
→ SYX Peppermint 2.8 mg
Want something in between?
→ SYX Blueberry 5.6 mg
Want sweet fruit and higher strength?
→ SYX Tropical 11.49 mg or Apple Mint 11.49 mg
Want cooling mint?
→ SYX Cool Mint 11.49 mg or Freeze 11.49 mg
Want something unconventional and don't have a mental block on mold taste like me?
→ SYX Royal 11.49 mg with Coca-Cola flavor

In terms of processing and the range of parameters offered, they make sense to me, but personally, none of the variants I tried suited my taste. However, this is purely a subjective assessment. When it comes to flavors, it's really true that what doesn't suit one person might be top-notch for another.
Is SYX a good brand?
For me, yes, especially when I look at the brand as a whole. Personally, I prefer it in vaping – with disposable e-cigarettes, POD systems, and e-liquids – rather than with nicotine pouches.
Conclusion: pouches are not for me, but I definitely won't write off SYX
If I were to evaluate only SYX nicotine pouches, my assessment would be quite simple:
they are not for me.
Not a single flavor personally convinced me enough to say that I needed to buy it regularly.
But judging the entire brand based on that would be quite unfair.
In my opinion, SYX is much stronger in the world of vaping. Disposable e-cigarettes, POD devices, and e-liquids are precisely the areas where its approach, flavors, and overall direction suit me significantly more.
So if you want SYX nicotine pouches, feel free to try them and form your own opinion. (or check out the collection nicotine pouches) The strength offering is good, and the flavors are different enough that you could theoretically find a favorite.
I haven't found it yet.
But I'm definitely not done with SYX as a brand.
